id bet on the centimeter needed for trigger pull vs the 4-5 inches needed to work the pump.

but i wouldnt mind seeing it done.

Shotgun showman Tom Knapp can break 10 hand thrown clay pigeons with a Benelli semi-auto, but only 8 with a Benelli pump. I wager he's about as good as they get with shotguns.

Patrick Flanigan can do 11:

"To Flanigan speed is everything. To be able to toss 11 clay pigeons into the air and hit them all individually before they hit the ground takes a shotgun with flawless speed and function. His world record doing this is with the shotgun considered the fastest autoloader in the world: the Super X3."

But, yeah, I agree BBP, a semi-auto is faster than a pump, but, man, can some of those guys cycle a pump!!!

Bill Oglesby made the brag he could break 10 hand thrown clays with a double barrel. He let the bets begin and continue for about a year, then actually did it.

He failed to tell anyone he was going to tape the 10 clays together.

Moral: Never take a bar bet. :-)

Now. What is the world record for an semiauto? A few decades ago what was the record with a pump?

I would like to see that old boy that used an old pump to set the world record with a new modern pump in his hands firing next to the current record holder.

Part of this may be a Pump in the right hands compared to a semi-auto in untrained hands.

If you had a pro speed shooter going against me, it would be an interesting and probably embarrassing (for me) competition.

come on guys be optimistik i think theres a good possibility it could be true because the semi auto is operated by a sprng so it has to explose blow it back come to a mdead stop and then go back and a person may be able to make a more fluid motion and therefore be faster
