Google "bludgeon" or be more specific as to which air pistol you're referring to.

At that speed, and that light of a projectile, it would generally be considered non-lethal. That pellet at that velocity only has an energy of 3.25 J.

Even Canada's firearm laws don't consider air weapons to be "firearms" until a muzzle velocity of 152.4 m/s and/or a muzzle energy in excess of 5.7 J. That doesn't mean the projectile automatically becomes lethal at those limits, but it's certainly considered non-lethal below them.

7.6 grains, 377 f/s, 2.4 ft/lb (3.26J). In the UK we can go up to 6 ft/lb (8.16J) without restrictions other than age.
