As a big time fan of CSI (and MB of course,
sey hey to Buster for me), and a friend of
mine just got back from deep sea fishing
- and caught a shark as well as other fish.
They do this once a year and have fish for
the entire year! Can't wait till they invite
me over again!
so, here's my q's - pls don't "ahem" me,
i simply haven't had time to log in (let
alone watch much tv) - finals doan tchuh gknogh???
1. Is it true that sharks:
a) will eat anything; ie, the garbage
collectors of the sea?
b) If they did eat a person don't the
chew up what they eat? I see these
whole arms or legs on CSI. The show
is *supposed* to be way accurate. Hmmmm
c) Can smell blood a mile away? And how
does anything get smelled under the
water with tides, currents and such???
2. Maybe a bit of a science moment on the diff
kinds of sharks, and such.
3. Also, what about killer whales? Def intelligent
but still a killer. (Thinking of "Wall Street"
or "Trading Places" here
4. So, what's Jamie's and Adam's B/G
when it comes to diving and such?
(Me: i'm a surface dabbler - snorkle, mask,
and fins only).
5. And what *IS* the thing about "shark fin soup"?
This seems as sad as turtle soup - there are
enough alternatives, me thinks; argghy, me hearties!
btw: the whole thing about the dolphin scaring off
the shark attack *still* wow's me!
I loved the article that Discvoery Mag did on J & A
as "the new inspiration for young science students".
Way cool - but, then i *still* think Mr. Wizard
is cool as well as Bill Nye; and i can't get enough
NASA channel.
well done to all the cast and crew there
-- one abs fab show!!
frank - snapping at the bit to see the shark ep!
