Wow. I was surprised that anybody on this site cared about hockey, and now I see there are TWO!

What's next, curling?

And Mythmod, if you are so sure about it, why didn't you lock the thread?

I suppose we all have to make allowances - after all, you are from Michigan.

St. Paul is really Hockeytown USA, but Detroit has been Octi-town USA, since 1952. Smile

Ah, yes... the Octopus. Gotta love it.

BTW... regardless of who throws it, his name is "Stanley" - the thrower gets booted out of Joe Louis Arena by security, but usually has time enough to buy an SRO ticket and get back in while the game is still being played (depending on how long they wait to chuck good ol' Stanley onto the ice.)

Badgolf, thanks for the link -- I'd seen the Stanley Cup playoff commercials on TV, but couldn't figure out why they showed an octopus.

As far as the topic goes, I don't really follow pro hockey, so I'm just cheering for good games.

Just-the-facts, I'm not a big hockey fan, but my wife is, so I have to be one by default.

It was fun to watch the Penguins shut out The Flyers last night.

Now that it is down to Detroit and Pittsburgh...

In all likely hood, Detroit will win, but I expect Pittsburgh will make then work for it. Who knows, they may even win, stranger things have happened.

My best guess is whoever scores the most goals in 4 of the possible 7 games... Just a shot in the dark though.
