Recently, when I try to view a post or a forum I've been getting messages to the effect that I don't have the necessary permissions. Several minutes later I try again and there is no problem. It has happened in the middle of the day and middle of the night so I don't see any particular time pattern. Any idea what's happening?

On more than one show you have had them trying to blow up a vehicle when it was getting gas. A cell phone was used and found not enough was there to cause it to blow. I have found that during the winter and depending upon what a person is wearing static elictricty builds up. So when a person exits their vehilce and touches the side of it closeingthe door or the side panel a discharge is created. So I also have noticed that when a person gets out(more women than men)to get fuel they begin pumping and get back in, so when theyhere it click off they in turn get out and(fuems are around the tank opening) and they touch the vehicle the discharge takes plaes and ignites the fumes. There by a fire. So my advice is stay in or out because you do increase your risk of a fire fom staic elictristy.

nsttrack,
It seems you're experiencing a server glitch. Nothing I can do about that. I suggest you close your browser window and then try again.

You have the moderator of the message board mixed up with someone who is researching the show. This needs to be posted on an existing thread in Episode Discussion.

my father is a teacher of 7th and 8th graders and was wondering if the mythbusters created any experiments that could be done in the classroom. Are there any suggestions or ideas on the site? Also do you think there could be an episode or a special dedicated to this?

Mythknight I am not mythmod, but I would like to point out this was discussed at length a while ago, for a childs party, a large number of us got together and developed 10-15 diffrent kids games and experiments that would teach them and give them some MB style fun. But unfortunatly I can't remember the name of the thread. Try Child friendly in the search engine.

OK, thanks. I thought it might have something to do with temporarily shutting down stuff during your cleansing and rearranging efforts.
In a related question, I often get 30-second or longer delay when waiting for a response. I'm using a broadband cable connection so I was wondering if the server traffic ever gets backed up to where it would take that long to respond. This only seems to happen on the Mythbusters site.

Mythmod;; Have you ever considered a Members Choice Mythbusters special? Where forum members could vote from a list of the most popular reasonable myths & select maybe 4 or 5 that they would like to see.

I have nothing to do with show production. I just have a little bird that keeps me in the loop because of what I do. This insures that I can adequately assign resources where they're needed for the forums.
There is a "Viewers Choice" type episode somewhere in the pipes (unless my little birdie's been nipping the corn whiskey again...)

mythmod, is there a mailing address for the myth busters? If so, would it be possible for me to recieve it to send the mythbusters a letter?

No, the MythBusters receive all their feedback and "fan mail" on the message boards.
I strongly discourage any other form of communication because that just takes up their time and they have less time to work on the show ideas and the show we all love.

mythmod, have you tried talking the site admin into putting a note in the agreement people read when they sign up telling them not to post myths here? Maybe if it is something they are forced to read they will pay (some) attention to it.

I have said elsewhere that they will be changing the intro page for the message boards when I'm done renovating.
PLEASE, be patient.

I haven't been on the mythbusters forum for a while (a few weekes at the most) and I have a question. It's kinda embarassing, considering I'm a senior member and all , but how do I get an email sent to me every tim there is a new post on a thread. wasn't there a notify button on the grey bar beside "Find" ? Where'd it go?

Mythmod, and all others who used the notify feature: I was messing around, and it's apparently moved. Click on your name next to one of your posts, and then click on "View (your name)'s Personal Zone Page. There's a deal on the left specifically for notifications.

uggae,
I hit the modqueue with a large stick at least three times a day. The turn around time depends when you post. If you post while I'm sleeping - you'll have to wait until I'm awake.
It's usually between 8 and 10 am, 12pm to 2pm and after 6pm.
I am making a habit of having one last go around before I hit the bed.
After midnight, you're waiting until morning.
