Any chance at a private invite only type of forum where the Mythbusters could feel comfortable to come back and chat with polite fans? I may not have been a message board person since the start but I have watched the Mythbusters since episode one and now that I am here I find people drove them off.
I would love to be able to talk to any of them, since I don't have a life anyway would be so great to discuss the tests etc. If not a private forum invite only maybe a forum only they can post in and people allowed to post and if you go off the deep end your removed from it?
We already had talked about that, and it seems kindda impossible to do that systemlord, creating a post with thousands of question to the mythbusters will created as post earlier a lot of problems on this message board.
Episode Discussion has become much more readable by splitting and sticking each week's episode (huzzah!), but I've personally had instances where I've asked specific questions about details or testing methodologies, only to have them buried in vitriolic rants about how someone screwed something up for some reason or another (not huzzah).
I am in no position, nor do I have any desire, to impugn the super-spectacular job Double-M has done and is doing currently, but if that can be addressed in the future, shall it?
Perhaps the topics can be further split into a general discussion (hey, you did it wrong) and a more heavily-moderated Questions/Clarification (what temperature was x when it 'sploded?) thread?
Mythmod; Does Mythbusters have anything like Neilson ratings? It would be interesting to see what viewer turnout will be when you do the Plane On A Treadmill show.

And thats a pretty good idea too eightbit. Anyway to pass some ideas off to the Mythbusters themselves and see what would make them comfortable with stopping in once in awhile with fans that can show respect?
Systemlord, you must remember that the cast is also VERY busy actually MAKING MythBusters, so they have little time to log in and CHAT MythBusters, too!
Even in a private, heavily moderated and very well respected by the cast and crew forum they still make very few appearances. And even with the huge improvements that mythmod has made in recent months here, it will never be as polite and comfortable a place as the other forum. And there are severe limits to what the Discovery Channel Forum software and hosting service can do in terms of 'private inner sanctum' for the chosen few.
So while you have a very commendable idea, it is not likely to succeed in reality.

You can get the top ten programs for the previous week there, but don't expect Mythbusters to ever be on the list.
Also, Nielsen ratings are used extensively in closed-door negotiations between providers, advertisers and distributors. So don't expect Discovery to be forthcoming about their ratings in public forum, as it may negatively affect their revenue, and consequentially their market value (if publicly-traded; are they?).
If it's purely "educational," Why haven't you gone to your LOCAL police department to show them your "trick" and be done with it?
Why do you HAVE to involve anyone else? If this is truly what you say it is, then you can do it locally.
Didn't you say that you were ARRESTED for driving under the influence anyway? How reliable is your "method" if you didn't even succeed?
You've lost credibility because you've admitted you were arrested for DUI TWICE even though you claim you can "beat" the breathalyser. You've re registered under a different screen name. If this is SO important, go to your local authorities and offer your "services" - you don't need the MythBusters in order to do your civic duty.
If you still insist that only the MythBusters can do this, then I'm chalking you up to "Only I can do it! Call me to be on the show/meet you!" I've given you alternative methods, it's now up to you in order to do what you think is right.
The topic of adding the ability to upload files to posts on all the boards here has been discussed with the administrators- they won't do it. It costs time to manage the files in order to insure that they are family friendly and virus free, bandwidth and storage space.
If you need to have a document/picture/pdf attached to a post - do what everyone else does, they find a free picture or document host, upload it there and put the link on the board.

mission2fruition, what part of THIS don't you get? Just drop it and move on with your life. BigMorry is hardly alone in his perspective, I think you will find.
If this was an actual thing that you can do, the suggestion to take it to local authorities and let THEM learn from it to teach others would have been the way to go.

Systemlords --- not long back we had a big long discussion about mythbusters + friends areas. Open chats. Closed chats. Auditorium chats. Fan base size and fame comparitive to stand off distance from fans. The standard compliment of online forums and chats. And why the mythbusters are unlikely to be around. I know alot of people love to meet and chat with their heros, both tv, writer, singer, and saviour, but it rarely happens, and the best chance of it is happening is if we let THEM decide when - how - why and who. The media experts avaliable to Discovery and MBs have just as much if not more knowledge of possible ways to chat with fans.
Yeah mythmod, Why was there no brand new episode on this past Wednesday ? I was sitting waiting in front of the TV to see a new episode. They didnt have no myth for christmas ? Or Were they busy finishing others MB projects, they had probably left behind ?
