That was explained a couple pages back. Shes just another member (she doesn't post here, but on one of the other Disco forums). Thanks to an error in the code somewhere, she's apparently been given full mod status until they get around to fixing it. Fortunately she is apparently an honest sort, and isn't abusing the mistake (although that member name may have been suspended and she has a new one - I heard mention of that somewhere).

So that's who Kim G is, just a regular member who sometimes post on other discovery channel forums that by mistake on this software became a temporary mod. But how she was giving full access as a mod status just like that? Probably she hack this page or something to be giving full backstage VIP moderator pass to this disco website. Anyways that would be nice to be giving by error for a few days or hrs a full mod status to make new rules in this forums for a bit for those repetitive posters that just comes in here to bother generating more web traffic on this site. And to do a couple of more things on this site, but never abusing power.

MicMeister... stop

It was a glitch in the database. Don't read anything else into it.

Hi, MM. a silly thing happened to me on the way to the forum. I installed Mandrake Linux on the flip side of the hdd, and even after plugging in flash 9.0, I still can't get this place to let me in.I get the logon page, but just keep being told to log in again? So I'm back on the blue screen machine. And I did wash off my cookies! Not that there were many! And they weren't very dirty, either.......

beswatcher,

Unfortunately, I'm not that familiar with Linux - so we'll have to get a more Linux savvy member to help you out.

Any takers?

Even though i'm gonna talk about linux web-browser cause I know very little about it, just that it works like safari.

Anyways MM, since you are here right now. I wanted to let you know something(like report) that lately I'm been having problems too in the connection on this site. While trying to log in in on this site, like I put all that is information that is required to log in. But suddenly it tells me that it has been an error, and that I need to log in again. What does that happened do I need to erase the cookies or something ?

Thanks mythmod, sorry to bother you this way.

Beswatcher Right now I'm using Firefox on Ubuntu... Start with the simple checks caplock, numlock, the keyboard doesn't have a sticky or hard key, and try another web browser. dingdao

I often have the same problem of late. I am using Firefox with XP-Pro. Here's what I do when the board won't let me log in. Usually what I get is just that it's an invalid username and password. When this happens, I usually just try loging in through a different screen. For example, if I tried using the log-in link and that won't let me in, I try clicking on the FIND button. That opens a different log-in window and more times than not, that window will let me in. If that doesn't work you can click on any REPLY link and again, another log-in window opens and you can try there. Sometimes it is necessary to manually retype your username if your browser already entered it for you. I guess it's just some bugs in the eve software. It doesn't seem to be the most reliable BBS software around.

On this side of the hdd, (XP Pro), I have the best luck with the REPLY link, even though I still have to go through Disco's home page to get back here. It's a holiday here, so I'll try the Linux side later and see what happens.

Thanks, GTCGreg for the advice. I will tried it out to see if it works well like it worked for you. Lately I always before logging in, first erase the cookies from the internet browser that sometimes lets me log-in without a problem. But that does not always work like a charm.

I was replying to one of those silly drinking to get drunk questions when the thread was cut out from under me. My question: Are you going to start treating drinking to get drunk questions in the same way that you treat the water for fuel ones? If you are you have my full hearted support. This is supposed to be family friendly and kids asking how to get drunk faster on less alcohol seems to me to be contrary to what Mythbusters is all about.

Subductionzone,

If it's illegal or dangerous and likely to be done by someone, I remove it.

If you see a thread that matches that criteria, feel free to email me a link for prompt attention (unless I'm sleeping.)

Hurray *Sits on mythmods lap and munches the cookies.* Muhaha, help. Ugh,

Actualy it would be alot easier if the question didn't ask you to break the acedemic writing methods the course has engrained in you so far. But they ask you to use I, and me, and we, but in an acedemic paper. Ugh.

Oh Mythmod...

At some point when you're chatting with the IT guys, can you mention that I'm sick of the "Air Force" ads? No, not the ads themselves, but it's formatted to go down the side (i.e. long and thin) and it's appearing at the top of the page where they're usually wide and short.

I have to scroll down a few screens to even start seeing the forums.

Well, ignore that ^^^^^^^

With or without prodding from you, they seemed to have gotten that ad sorted out... Much easier to cruise the boards.

Thanks anyways.

Firefox is much better than any other browsers out there on the internet. IT much faster than anything else, plus it has a spell checker that let's you checked for spelling while in your writings for you to correct them.

Plus using this browser I don't have any problem at all while searching in this site.

Warplane, all the questions you ask are already answered in this very thread. I suggest you look it over rather than expect Mythmod to answer them all again. If you don't want to read the whole thread, then it would be a good exercise in using the find button.
