When I first got on this site this morning I noticed an old "water for gas" thread had somehow been revived. It very shortly disappeared again. Was this a side effect of recent tweakings to this site?

Actually it still shows up on the board listing page. But once you get in the science section it is not listed. But then when I go back to the boards page there it is again. I already also reported this.

That happens sometimes when a thread has been freshly removed. That's not a problem.

why were the polls taken off? abuse by the junior members, with the cliche "do u think this will work" i remember i did that once and MajMattMason gave me a nice lecture on y it was a stupid poll. but it was helpful, if he hadnt of said that id prob still be doing those polls today rofl

Why the poll option was removed shouldn't worry you, as it's not a permanent thing. They will most likely be back soon enough.

What happened to the political discussion thread, was it taken-off this board because it got a little out of hand ? Or because it would lead to pointless arguments over politics discussion that will never be allowed on this board ?

Venom - MM addressed this question when someone else opened a similar topic. Politics just divide people, lead to arguments and don't have a place on the MB boards.

Have the site administrators thought of implementing a 'post preview' option? That may reduce the need for editing if people can get an idea of what and how their post looks on the site before posting it. Granted, you can always just go back and re-read it, but some people are not always compelled to do so. Just a thought.

1. Have you heard anything back from the powers that be (Eve?) about fixing that faulty "HAVE A SCIENCE OR MYTH QUESTION? Click here and ask away!" link yet? Based on reading 10 pages back ("Find" button came up with nothing) it sounds like you requested it over a month ago! That html should have been quick/easy for them to fix. Of the things on their to-do list I would hope it's near the top. I'm guessing it's the reason many first time posters accidentally post new myths in the Episodes forum, creating extra "deleting threads" work for you.

2. I'm confused about whether Adam really decides what goes in the Oogie Boogie board? Do threads even get moved there or are they all created there by the original posters? I'm sorry if this has been answered somewhere before. My attempt at the "Find" button for this didn't give me an answer, but it did bring back a lot of "this should be moved to the Oogie Boogie board" posts in topics that were never moved! I also didn't find an answer reading 10 pages back or in the first two pages of this thread.

If I have a couple questions that I think people in this community might know the answer to, but they aren't myths, would you rather I start a thread in the Cooler or in one of the myth forums? A couple pages back, GTCGreg said general science questions could be asked in the Science forum, but one of my two questions is not science related. They are both travel-related.

Here is an idea that probably won't work but I'll give it a shot: When someone uses a hyyerlink the post could go straight to the mod queue. As if you didn't have enough to do already moderating this forum.

About the Oogie Boogie board: basically, anything that deals with the supernatural, or things taht are not possible with modern technology (sci-fi stuff) is usually posted there. Ms. Mythmod is a very busy person and doesn't have time to move them usually, so they either are posted there originally or never see that board at all.

About the travel myth:

Just go ahead and post it in the Transportation forum. If anyone gets mad, tell them to come yell at me.

Adam doesn't decide what goes on the Oogie Boogie board. It's just named after him because he stated he would do no "oogie boogie myths." It is the place that people can post anything that doesn't have a place on the other boards.

If you have questions that you want the community to help answer, the best place for those is the Science and Myth Questions board. We have a great deal of wonderful people from all walks of life with a great deal of experiences in all fields. That board was made specifically for those question that are not show ideas, but users would like help getting answers.

Pretty much any none myth question fits in the Science and Myth Question board. Because all over the world there are scientists exploring subjects such as, internal combustion, biology, phsychology, physiology, mechanics, material science, animal science, natural science..... The list is endless. As away in the Science forum and blame me if people complain.
