I HAVE READ A FEW THINGS, TRIED DIFFERENT TECHNIQUES, BUT I NEED EXPERIENCE, I HAVE NO IDEA ON HOW TO GET IT. ANY IDEAS?

Secondly, a quick search on the internet for "Special Effects Degree" will turn up a miriade of schools that offer degrees in special effects, from pyrotechnic and explosive degrees, to molding and forming of special effects make-up.

I would suggest completing one of these degrees to display the fact you actualy have the ability to work well enough in the field to gain a degree would be a good starting point.

After that there are plenty of websites and companies that specialise in providing special effects artists including make up artists and being employed by one of these organisations is likely a good way into the field.
