At the beginning of Mythbusters you guys always say, "Don't try this at home ... ever!" Wouldn't it be fun to have an annual Try This at Home episode? We watch the show with our 8-year-old daughter who enjoys math and science. We'd like to foster that interest, but the only experiment from your show that we dare replicate is the Mentos and Diet Coke. She loved it, by the way. I understand you folks have liability issues to dance around. Inevitably there's a moron somewhere out there in the world that could manage to kill themselves even with Mentos and Diet Coke. But it seems like there should be some myths to bust that don't require the use of robotics and/or high-powered explosives. Just a thought.
Lastly, I'll introduce myself. I'm a TA for emotionally disturbed teenagers, a step mom, and soccer coach. Soon I'll be going back to school for a teaching credential. I have a BA in Psychology and Japanese Culture. (It's not a BS, but I can be fluent in BS as well.) I intend to teach late elementary school, so the credential will be in multiple subjects. Though my strongest subject is English I enjoy teaching science more than any other subject. That's me in a nut shell.
It's nice to see so many people hang around the water cooler. It's a pleasure to meet you all.
