Originally, I thought this show was brilliant! The Myths I've heard about in my 40+ years were actually being put to the test! That was very cool indeed! And the genuine, personal chemistry between Adam and Jamie really made me chuckle a lot.
Now...I really don't know whose idea it was to bring "the tech help" forward with their own 'myth tests'. But I have to say that, for me, it was the beginning to an end. I'm sure that Tory, Grant and Kari are very nice people. But their phony and amateurish on-camera presence is somewhat stressfull. I don't mind seeing them explaining something and/or appearing in candid scenes. But to give them an entire half of the show is just bad form for entertainment.
I'm sure the original idea was to have Grant and Company cover the myths that Adam and Jamie didn't have time for. But I think this back-fired for the show. Running out of 'real' myths per hour...now they're testing fictional things from movies that we all know are..."fictional" and don’t expect them to be functional at all. Honestly...what's next? A show about whether an alien predator can actually cloak himself? If Jason Voorhees can actually come back to life? That new show should be called, MovieBusters and would be short-lived, I'm sure.
Bring back Adam and Jamie – Solo! That is the genuine enjoyment and magic of Mythbusters. Many a TV series met defeat after introducing new team members. Tory, Grant and Kari... you’re valuable! But you're absolutely at your best in a supporting background. (No offense intended)

I disagree. We have to remember two things about MythBusters and M5 (or M7, or whatever they're calling Jamie's Special Effects Shop).
First, I highly doubt that Jamie and the rest of his crew have given up their day jobs in favor of this show. After all, movies have not gone completely computerized, so there still is a business niche for the group. Therefore, Adam and Jamie need all the help they can get to complete their television show and still work for Hollywood.
Second, since season 2, the group has been relying on myths from the fan site to keep running. By now, I have to think that most of the good myths have been used up by now, and to stay on the air, they have to really scrape the barrel's edges.
In any case, I don't think the show has hit rock bottom, and I don't think you suggestion would help the show.
