No, it doesn't make much sense and it can be annoying when entire threads are closed down due to a few inappropriate posts... but, it is what it is.

Oh I know all about the disclamer, which is why I am not up in arms about it.

I am just simply trying to help offer sound advise in how to streamline this board and make things easier (in the long run) for all.

As stated before if any member has a question why their post was removed they can contact a moderator. The reasons why posts are removed will not be debated by moderators on the message boards.

Your views are appreciated but the decisions made by moderators are following the rules for Discovery forums.

I understand what you're saying and I don't disagree that this place could use some clean-up along with some better methods of moderation.

The amount of mods and time that it would take to actually clean this place up to the standards that some of us are used to just isn't going to happen here. It seems apparent that they are not willing to spend the time or $$$ on a site that already serves its 'intended purpose'.

For the most part I find it laughable so, while accepting it for what it is (and given my sarcastic sense of humour), this place can be quite the field day .

For the record. I have not had any posts removed since my last screen name.

Actually Alanna. I would disagree with how many mods it would take, and it would not likely cost anything extra.

I recently left moderator status on a political board that receives about fifteen thousand posts a day (I got tired of debating politics). We had two unpaid moderators and one admin.

Yes, things got unruly from time to time, but they didn't stay that way long.

No, I am not bidding for a mod spot on this forum. You could not pay me enough to do the job with these restrictions.

Yah well this is backup computer 2 , main computer locked on the laundry soap post and when I tried a cleanup on it it shut down .

It could very well be purely a hardware issue , but when I fired this computer up the very first thing I received was a java security update priority ( what a coincidence , too bad I will have to go over computer one , too little too late ) .

Even so I think the risk of someone not liking your comment and fiddling with the computer via stupidly added remote functions to software is too high .

You can keep the net and all its crappy wonders .

Why is it that I get a message saying that I am not permitted to reply when I click on the quick post button, but am allowed to post using the other post function?

There does some to be a problem getting into some of the forums. I noticed this with Internet Explorer but was able to get in the forums with Firefox.
