How it is around here, very simple new member.

1) folow the rules of this board, respect everyone on this board, thats is expected on everyone that joins this board.
2) Make SURE you use the FIND button (it's yellow and on the left side at the top of the board) to find an existing discussion, then if an existing discussion is found, post in there, thats it basically.

Hello from Georgia. I'm a 7th grade science teacher and have recently purchased MythBusters DVD's for my classroom (DiscoverySchool). They are a huge hit with the kids. I have always enjoyed the show and I love the how expertly they utilize the scientific method. Thanks MythBusters for making my classroom more interesting.

Hello. I've been a fan of Mythbusters for a long time, but I only just today started posted on here, and I've already posted enough to reach "Senior Member" status--mostly because I'm trapped in my apartment with bronchitis and I have nothing else to do.

Under normal circumstances, I'd be attending college, where I'm a senior majoring in English. I spend my free time when not reading or writing watching Mythbusters (of course!).

Welcome, Precious Pup, from a fellow English major (B.A., not saying when, except that there might have been a mirrored ball and a lot of polyester involved....). Wink

Come on, folks, give it up for a new poster who 1) can spell, 2) has a shift key and knows when to use it, and 3) doesn't think "grammar" is just that guy who was on "Frasier"! Woo Hoo!

Cactus High? I go to Edu-Prize over in Gilbert, AZ. Would be an excellent school if not for the aides.. gah! I was talking to a friend about the poppy seed drug test myth, and an aide decided to drag me off to the principal's office because she heard the word 'heroin'. Honestly, she wouldn't even let me explain..

Meh. Principal laughed at me when I told her what I was talking about. Turned out fine in the end.. W/E.

Ooh, do I get some bonus points for this being my first post by teh Water Cooler?

Hey, I was just wondering (Jamie and/or Adam), what do you guys do when you're not filming the show these days. Do you still work for Hollywood or have a "day job" so to speak. I know Discovery is probably treating you guys pretty good these days considering the success you've made of the show (or maybe not lol). Just wondering, you two have truely turned the show into one the most original and informative shows on television and should be very proud. Oh, I dont know if you've seen the new show Smash Lab, but maybe it's just me but it really came off as a cheap knock off of Mythbusters with just explosions and no science to it really. Guess I cant blame them for trying to emulate the Greats. You guys are great!!!

(wanders over to water cooler for first time)

So this place is dirty? I thought it was some
long-term on-going biology myth being developed
for telecast at a later date Wink (takes out
wipes and begins cleaning the windows over
near the candy machines)

and just in case: To all the MB staff crew and of
course the Adam and Jamie - well done! I always
enjoy this show no matter what and love the fact
that it's started to have more "science" or "history"
moments as sort of footnotes; i know it's hard to
get the "mix" right and of course one of the main
draws for the show is all of the action adventure.

re: smashlab - interesting, but just doesn't have the MB "magic" - do they *even* have a character like buster??? (so how many times has he been "re-incarnated"> - thinks to self about Terminator or clones)

on Douglas Adams - i think he would have loved this
sort of thing; one of his best books is "Last Chance to See"
(non fiction) and his twisted sense of humor would seem
to be perfect fit for the MB gang. All in all, i think
it's a superb mix of personality types (a sculptor
friend of mine and i think of ourselves as a sort
of "Adam and Jamie" - me being the slightly wilder
Adam (Bacchus) to his more controlled Jamie (Apollo).
And to the "tremendous trio" of Grant, Tory, and
Kari! I think i speak for all of us in saying that
being a member of M5 would be a dream come true.

Anyway, keep up the good work and .. damit - spilled
my cup of tea on some papers that were on the floor.
Gee wiz, i wish you guys would buy some better trash
bags than these #*#$)#*$!! 0.7 mil ones. (takes paper
towel to clean the papers off, and reading out loud...

Area 51 CLASSIFIED .... Wink
