Normally that shouldn't matter, but with the way the forum is set up using tables, the long user-name field causes all of the other fields to be compressed in both the topic list and in the thread they posted to.
It makes the whole forum difficult to read until that new user's posting has dropped off the current list of posts. We can't really fault these new users, because they don't realize how their clever name causes problems for everyone else as they are new, but the forum admin should know this, and could correct the problem. Right?
I can't imagine that the moderators, or more specifically administrators of the forum actually take the time to scan every new posting, such as this one, so I am pretty sure this will get sucked into the black hole expl0si0n of oblivion...unless of course that last sentence happened to use one of those silly little trigger words.
Now, who agrees?

Captain D-N agrees. On a bright side, it sounds like the mods will consider deleting any user name that alters the forum's text. quote:
So I guess it's up to the members (us) to report such nuisances.

I cringe when I see those nicknames... Why can't they keep it short and sweet?..

Because then they won't get the attention they crave.

On the bright side those long & odd usernames will be forgotten when they have to sign in again.

Not necessarily. The login is based on the e-mail address that the account is created under. All they have to do is remember the address they created the account with and their password.

Not to mention - even if they DID have to enter it every time, they're so fond of attention, they won't forget it.

When I first saw "ImRelatedtoChuckNorisBeAfraid" on the board, I was annoyed at how people need to be that way just to get attention and "be cool," or whatever goes through their heads. Then, when I saw "God_So_many_people_have_this_name," which is even longer, on the board, I was appalled at how selfish someone could get to have a name like that and disturb everything else on the board.
At least DCFM can remove them...

I prefer it when people don't make longer screen names all one word or put underscores between each word. At least then it doesn't mess up the format so much.
