I'm starting to think that Discovery gave up and cancelled production of this show. I'm guessing they didn't get the quality sumissions they were looking for. The sign of this was them extending the deadline...they also haven't updated their site in a year.
Has anyone heard from them? I'm just curious what's going on with this and if we're just gonna be kept in the dark after our hard work.

Although I already posted a thread on this very topic before, I don't think they had any lack of submissions, as last year's totalled in the triple digits. Now that they've made it clear that there's money involved too, I can't imagine that there was less effort on the part of viewers to make any. The only trouble this project suffered from was a complete lack of advertising on the network (as the only way I found out was from a 20 second bumper at the end of Cash Cab on new episodes, since Ben's the host). Other than that (and that you visited the webpage and switched the front page's graphics to the last featured item), you weren't privy to this. I agree that there is something fishy about them extending the date another two weeks (which was great, it allowed me to go back and fix my off-kilter credits in my film and re-submit), but I'm willing to bet they've got their hands full of other things at the moment (Lion, the production company handling the contest also creates Cash Cab). We'll see.
