Yes, I heard that wet food is usually more appealing for dogs, but it makes their... ummm... waste.... a little harder to clean up. And then I heard that dry food will fix that problem, but the dog may not like it as much and the healthy stuff is usually a little more out of the wallet. There are pros and cons for each, so I need a little advice. So, what is really better, Wet or Dry?
Waste will be bad to clean up no matter what if you are not feeding a good quality dog food. The "healthy" stuff is more out of the wallet because it is better for your dog.
If you feed your dog a good quality food, they will need to eat less, therefore equaling out the cost of a cheap, grain filled food that makes their poop as big and stinky as Texas.
Wet and dry is the same, as long as the nutrition is there. Some say that dry is better because it cleans the tarter and plaque off your dogs teeth. However, most small breeds have tarter and plaque problems and will require many cleanings in their lifetime regardless of what you feed them.
Wet foods come in more specialty diets, and are usually more expensive pound for pound vs. dry food.
Uhm unless you have just switched your food or it's a really bad food as has been mentioned wet food will NOT give your dog the runs.
Neither is better, though you will in general find higher quality kibble may not have a wet option simply because of the different processing equipment
dry food is not better for their teeth. it is actually a very odd theory. they crunch kibble with their back teeth and don't really gnaw or chew it for any period of time.
If that were true humans wouldn't have to brush their teeth if they ate dry cereal
