I'm curious about what everyone plans/planned to do when they are adults, why, and how you plan(ned) to acheive this. And of course for people to give others ideas on how to get where they want.

Me: I want to be a service dog trainer for the disabled.
Why: I've always wanted to help people, but something that doesn't deal with dogs is out of the question. When I was between the ages of two and five, I had to go to a special school because I had speach problems (all fixed now). So from an early age I have been around the disabled. My best friend's sister is also severely disabled. Disabilities don't really bother me. And then the training part- well that's my favorite thing to do. So why not make a career out of it?
How to achieve: I'm going to start volunteering at a place that does therapy for the disabled with horses. I haven't gotten much information on it yet, but I'm fairly sure that I'm going to. I also plan to start volunteering at either a hospital or a nursing home. And then, once my parents agree- I'm going to try to raise a puppy for Canine Companions for Independence (CCI). And then of course I plan to put titles on my own dogs and get a training job when I turn eighteen at Petsmart. Oh and of course some behavior classes in college.

And you?

I want to be an animal behavorist. I've noticed in my area ther aren't a lot of reputable behavorists, and being around animals, even if they are dominant, aggressive, etc., if it means helping an owner making the choice to fx the prblem or get rid of the animal, then by all means I'd do it. I love happy endings for animals, and if it just isn't right between owner and pet, I'd like to help figure out if I can change anything like dominance issues or something, or help make the choice to give the animal to a better housing arrangement. I plan on going to school to learn how to do this properly. Either that, or sell everything and move to a farm. I dream of having a farm one day, too. I'm only 12 , the world is still mine to take.

One day I would like to own a pet shop/doggie day care, however, as a working adult, I know it's not possible unless it's a side job.

And for me, it's only about a year away. I graduate college with my teaching degree next may, and hopefully I will be teaching by next fall! I have been preparing since I was quite young, I have always known I wanted to sing, and I've taken lessons since I was 13. I've gotten pretty good at it, or so everyone tells me. Lol.

I use to want to be a zoologist specializing in land predatory mammals but due to forces beyond my control my current major is archaeology with an emphasis in Mediterranean archaeology and Im currently doing work in Egyptian ceramic analysis.

I want to be a Vet Technician. I really like working with animals, and with this job, I can help them too!

I am going to be a vet in a shelter my friend and I will create in te country for dogs, cats, and horses.
Why: I love animals, and although I did not adopt my dog from a shelter, and I really want to help animals, especially dogs.
How I'll Achieve: Right now I can volunteer at shelters, and when I'll grow up I'll take vet school and meet my friend to create the shelter.
