I don't think your dog will get sick of eating dry food. But giving her people food isn't nutritious for her. If she's getting sick of her dry food, you should change it. Or, maybe you can add some canned dog food into the mix some times. Sometimes I will give my dogs a scrap of food such as chicken or turkey as a treat. But that's very rare. There are some food that you should never feed a dog. Such as chocolate or raisons.

Check out this place. It has some food that you should not be feeding your dog.

Hi
I just downloaded an e-book titled Teach Your Dog 100 Words by Michele Welton. She has tons of information like what they can eat, how to train, groom, health, etc. 19.95 is the cost. It is really interesting. She has been a trainer for 30+ yrs & a behavorist. Hope this helps!

You should concentrate on a good quality of dog food that provides all the nutrition your dog needs.

You can also mix in some wet food from time to time and also give your dog treats and chews to supplement the dogs diet.

Your dog will not get "bored" from eating dry dog food. Dogs don't have the taste pallet that we do, nor the thought process to think "I'm sick of this". They simply require fuel, and if they get that, they are satisfied.

Always mix your dog's dog food up a bit by keeping the main portion the same, but adding a little bit of something. Even we get tired of the same thing over and over again.

Whatever you do, do NOT feed your dog chicken bones. OR rawhide.

Hi Hi. I'm Tara and 11 years old. I may seem young but I am quite the dog expert. Dogs are my life!! Anyway, DO NOT give your dog ANY human food. Especially chocolate. It can make them throw up or have diarehia. But your dog will never get bored of eating the same dog food day after day.

That was origionally posted by pootlovesanimals.
That is humanizing your dog. You should never do that. Loving your dog is one thing but a dog IS A DOG PEOPLE!! GET OVER IT!! Anyway, dogs dont have the smae taste pallet as we do. They wouldn't ever get bored.

Tara...Hope I helped!! Cool

Incorrect dogs OFTEN get bored with their food. Not sure where you get your information from. In feeding raw we OFTEN suggest changing up the source of protein. From chicken to beef to deer to rabbit if possible because a dog can and will get bored with one food source.

I've heard before that it's best to switch up a dog's food. But I've also heard that dogs don't have quite the sensitive taste buds as humans. I've never had a problem with my dogs getting bored with food. And I haven't met many people with the same problem. Could it be different because you feed your dogs raw? It's bound to have more flavor in it.

dogs do not have the same levels of taste that humans do but i've come across many "picky" dogs once they eat a certain food for awhile they will simply eat less of it.

Back before I fed raw my border collie would wolf down food but after awhile she would simply stop eating it. I am not the sort of person to let a dog dictate what they got to eat but she would literally refuse to eat. I often used to say a dog will never starve itself but Shelby would certainly near starve herself.

Dogs have no where near as many taste buds as humans. It's comparable to how many more smells a dog can smell is just like how much more a human can taste then a dog.

At the top of the forum page (example: Breed Board) there is a bunch of tabs, one of them looks like a folder and reads NEW under it. Click that and it will have a drop down menu which you can choose DISCUSSION from, and that will start a new topic.
