This spring my grandparents and I got a Cocker Spaniel from an independent dealer and she's been a delight in the house hold. Her name is Chloe.
There are a couple of areas that we are having a hard time with her.
We are having a hard time potty training Chloe. Here's the thing, we would take her outside so she could take care of her business. But, there are times when she would only do one job, then when we bring her in she would do the other job on the floor.
How do we go about breaking that habit?
The 2nd area of concern is that she would either avoid me or barks/growls when I come in from work. Chloe is predominately my grandmother's dog, and from what I understand is that Cockers are usually one person dogs. But we had another Cocker Spaniel that would be very approachable.
Whenever I'm in the room Chloe would keep her distance from me. She would either pace back and forth behind my grandmother's chair or go near the fireplace.
How would I go about giving Chloe the confidence to approach me and letting me pet her?
I myself have been having issue with Pogo only doing on job outside, and then finishing in the house so I don't know what to tell you about that but I can tell you when my boyfriend and I have been doing with our 11 month old Austrialian Shepard and see if it helps.. We kennel him when we are not home, so we make sure that before we let him out the he lays down and it completely quiet before letting him our, if he isn't quiet he says in the keen, but I guess this would only help if you kennel you pet.Hope this helps a little!
