my kitty is practically croaked. my dad never wants a kitty ever again . he said he wants a puppy after she dies. what breed should i get for like shedding, persona, and other things like cuteness. i am an 11 years old. PLZ NO BIG WORDS!! lol
How much exercise are you willing to give your dog daily? How much grooming do you plan on doing? How easy of a learner? Are there very many little kids that will be visiting your dog? Are there any types of animals that your dog must get along with? Here's a good breed selection tool.
And don't forget to look at your local shelters for your future dog. Millions of dogs and cats are killed in U.S. shelters yearly due to the lack of homes. Don't support a breeder unless you're planning to show your dog and you know how to find a good breeder. Breeding is a lot more than putting two dogs together. The parents must have titles- in the showring or in a performance events. The dogs should also be health tested with organizations like OFA (hips, elbows, thyroid, etc.) and CERF (eyes).
Check out Petfinder for dogs near you that are in need of homes.
Maybe you should actually wait until your kitty passes before thinking about this. It makes it seem like you think your kitty can't die fast enough. Check out those sites erl reccomended.
Well....i think that thinking ahead might be good....but just don't get carried away and forget that you own a kitty. I think that you should go to animal shelters and websites and MAKE SURE you know what you are doing when you get your dog. KNOW WHAT IS GOOD FOR THEM TO EAT! Some of my friends just classify what their dog's eat as dog food! Nothing but dog food...and one can't pay for good dog food so she got OL' ROY....THE WORST EVER DOG FOOD AND THAT DOG FOOD WAS INVINTED BY THE ALIENS OF KILL A DOG A THON!!!! So HAVE FUN and other stuff and know what you are doing...the dog aint goin to cure itself...in other words...lol....The dog isn't going to take care of itself! CORGISRLOVABLE!
Hi corgisrlovable! Glad to see you alive and(I hope) well!Rodeoprincess12 it's really a matter of opinion. There's countless types of toy breeds, small breeds, medium breeds, large breeds, Giant breeds and in-between breeds.. There's different personalities- mellow, outgoing, etc. Puppies are adorable, but you have to housetrain, and train good manners, and basic training. Adults should be at least a little bit trained and none of those 'tendencies' that puppies have that can blossom into big things: like biting. Seniors are lovable and sweet, not as much energy as the other 2 choices but still full of love. Whatever fits your lifestyle. Don't get discouraged if you don't find the right dog instantly, it might take a little searching, but when you come across that one special dog you'll know it's the right one for you. Good luck and happy hunting!
the kind of puppy i want it a small breed. my friends think a shihtzu would be good, but i dont know cuz they are not experts. i think i need help on this. and by the way, i am willing to give it a lot of playtime and exercize. i will take really god care of it, but it needs to be easy to care for, saying as if im at my mom's house, my dad needs to care for the puppy. what would be best??
Dont just give up on your kitty, you are its owner and it needs you to stay alive. Just because your dad doesnt want a cat doesnt mean you should just let it die. We had a half lab half rottweiler and my parents said that it was to much work and made us take it to the SPCA. I did everything for the dog and I never forgave myself for letting my parents just take her away. Do everything that you can to save your kitty otherwise you will never forgive yourself. Trust me on this one, if your cat is on the verge of dying maybe you need to do alot of research on a puppy so you wont get in the same situation. Dont let yourself get to attached to a dog that you have to leave to go to your other parents houses. I have 2 birds and they swith homes with me, If I had to leave them every other week I dont know what i would do. Good Luck
