I just saw that they cast a beagle to play the lead in the remake of that 70s cartoon Underdog. I think the dog is absolutely adorable, especially wearing the little costume. I don't know too much about beagles (I've only had labs and retrievers), but it's so cute I might have to reconsider!! The adorable beagle

Yes they are cute, but please don't get a Beagle just because you think that they are cute and the one in the movie is cute.

oh goodness, I would never do that! that's irresponsible. I WILL however, go and see this movie to stare at the cute dog. There's also a little cocker spaniel (I'm pretty sure that's what it is) playing Polly Purebred that I think is delightful!

No that's actually a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. You were pretty close though.

However, what the other posters said is true. Please don't go into the hype of a cast breed of dog for a movie. Remember "101 Dalmatians"? That movie almost ruined the breed because every one thought the Dalmatian would be the perfect pet. People went out and started breeding Dalmatians for no reason except to make money. It made the breed full of faults, and gave them bad habits, such as aggressiveness.

If you'd like a beagle, consider going to a shelter and adopting a beagle or beagle cross that's already there. There are also lots and lots of beagle rescues. Beagles, unfortunately, are a much used breed for lab testing. Thankfully, many rescues are in place to save these lives from years of anguish. It would be a really cool feeling to rescue a lab beagle!

LOL, not sure if I'd be committed to getting a beagle or any other dogs at this point in my life, just wanted to point out how much fun it is to watch this little puppy and the cavalier king charles spaniel (thanks cavielover, I guess you'd know based on your name!!) during the previews I've seen for the movie. I'm a huge fan of movies where dogs are the main characters, so I just wanted to share! I think I love these types of movies so much b/c it's so amazing to see how well-trained and well-behaved the dogs are.

Very cute! I have a beagle (from a shelter) named Chloe and of course I think that she is actually the cutest dog in the world. But this one can be the second cutest.

LOL, thank you Daisyleesouth...of course I think my dog is the cutest of all, he's a golden retriever, but he can be tied with yours. Anyway, just wanted to let all the beagle and king charles lovers know that Underdog opens tomorrow and I'm going to go see it this weekend! yay!!

Yay! After seeing the trailers, I want to see the movie soon. I remember the "Underdog" cartoon from way back when I was a little child.
