"Diamond Pet Foods has announced it is withdrawing a limited number of canned products manufactured by American Nutrition. This action is limited to three specific canned products: Chicken Soup for the Pet Lover's Soul Kitten Formula 5.5 oz. cans, and Chicken Soup for the Pet Lover's Soul Puppy Formula 13 oz. cans, and Diamond Lamb & Rice Formula for Dogs 13 oz. cans.

Diamond Pet Foods has not received any indication of quality or safety issues, including pet illness, with the three withdrawn products. However, because American Nutrition informed the company that these three specific products may include rice protein concentrate, Diamond Pet Foods felt this action was necessary for the protection of its customers and their pets.

Customers with these products should stop feeding them immediately and return them to their retailer for a full refund.

Chicken Soup for the Pet Lover's Soul dry pet food and dog treats ARE NOT part of any pet food or treat recall."

DANG IT, THIS IS GETTING FREAKING RIDICULOUS!!!!!! I JUST switched to Chicken soup for the Puppy lover's soul, and I have already given my dogs and growing puppies 3 cans of it, although I have mostly been sticking to dry food, thank goodness. I guess I'll be taking the ones I have left back to the store for that refund.

I hope your babies are alright! I'm sending some good thoughts your way.

Just yesterday I was thinking of switching my girls to Chicken Soup for The Dog Lover's Soul. I'm so glad I didn't decide which food to switch to. These recalls are getting very ridiculous. Especially since they're starting to get the better foods.

This is again why I stick to dry foods, it's almost always wet foods affected by recalls and not dry foods.

I can't remember which brand, but I'm pretty sure that there were some dry foods affected by the recall.

Ah for shame.

My mom was feeding Nutro Natural Choice packets to her elderly dogs before the recall.

She wanted to switch to a new brand since we're now hesitant to buy Nutro products.

I was going to pick her up some Chicken Soup cans, but it seems like I may have to revaluate that situation.

The article states that the food recalled may contain rice protein, not that it did, or that any animals fell ill form it. I just recently switched to this brand (dry food, I don't like canned). I believe the company shows great ethics by doing this, and I will continue to feed it to my pets. I'm not going to worry about it anymore, and personally, I'm through with all this paranoia.
