Basically someone got tired of these people letting their dog roam around the neighborhood unhindered.

Worse could of happened. Maybe someone tried to tell the owner it was bad, or maybe they didn't. Either way. Wrong way of going about getting your point across lol.

It worked!!! There was no harm done to the dog. Plus, the authorities were notified and she was told to keep her dog contained. I would never do it, but it certainly got results!!

LOL

My friend always says putting a note in their collar that says "I just could have stole your cat/dog", really gets their attention as well.

That's definitely a very creative way to get a your point across. The dog seems fine so I see no problem with it. It's almost like she called the police on herself and was told to take better care of her dog.

ROFL!!! I AM SORRY but that is awfully funny! They could have done anything to the dog if they got the dog to make the message an uh lets just say- the owners will have a long term reminder to not let their dog run at large.. ROFL. Thanks for the laugh. !!

LOL What a great way to get someone's attention! According to he picture the dog isn't hurt at all so I honestly have no problem with it... it's a little strange for my taste though.

You don't have a problem with it? Would you spray paint your own dog?

I agree with ilovemypapillons, are you kidding me? Anyone who respects the existance of a dog or any life for that matter, would NEVER do such a thing and see that the fault of a roaming dog lies on the owners. The dog should never be defaced and shamed by this horrible raunchy act. Those of you who find this "funny" should be embarrassed and think about whether you should really, and I mean really, be a dog owner.

Actually, I did spray paint my dog for Halloween one year. Mind you it was the safe kind for people's hair, but still this dog wasn't hurt, and really the people that did it could have done much worse. If people would control their pets there wouldn't be incidences like this. Totally the fault of the owner. The funniest part was that the dog was again "at large" when the owner called the police to complain about the vandalism.

We are talking about animals who eat poo, and lick their rears. I don't think the dog was shamed and humiliated, but I bet the owners were, and hopefully they learned their lesson.

I stand by what i said and those of you who claim to be animal lovers who find this funny, well you are not focusing on what happened here. The dog is not only in a state of abuse by being ignored and let to roam the streets, but then being abused a second time by the hands of this dog hater. Can you imagine how the dog felt being sprayed by this idiot! Every life should be respected. Actions like this only adds negativity to our world and will come back to those who participate in those negative actions. Hope you wear those colors well.

wow aren't you the righteous one, you know what? How do I imagine the dog felt? I think it didn't give a rat's behind. Yes from the picture I can clearly see the dog is traumatized beyond repair and shall never get over being painted. It probably enjoyed the attention if anything. The dog is obviously not been harmed so what are you harping about? If it had hurt the dog there would be a follow up going on they wouldn't have simply closed the case.

You don't know what happened when they sprayed the dog. Maybe they held him down. Maybe he ingested the noxious fumes from the paint. Maybe he just stood there! No matter what, it was a violation. You don't know by the picture that some abuse didn't occur because he happens to look fine in the photo! Don't laugh at stuff like this, don't condone this. Don't bring yourself down to that level. This is not about being righteous. It's not about me, it's about animal rights.

ok seriously.. did they shave the dog? did they scrape it's skin and then paint it?

you can clearly tell the paint is purely surface so it wasn't held down or at a close range...

so chill yeesh

I am an absolute animal lover. (I pull worms out of puddles if they're struggling!)

It drives me crazy when people try to pin human emotions on animals. Dogs may have a form of humility and dignity but it is certainly not the same as a humans. If dogs really felt shame or embarrassment, do you think they would l*ick themselves or go potty in front of us? I'm sure the dog had no idea what was happening (I bet he couldn't even read what the words said! Smile)

Hey- look- how I see this is- if they got the dog to spray paint, they could have done something else too.. The dog is running at large- subject to anything from being hit by a car to poison, dog fights- or even contributing to the over pet population, to kidnapping etc.. .
I also agree- the paint looks surface. .. I think its a good lesson to someone that lets their dog run at large.. The dog could have suffered worse for all the reasons I posted in the first paragraph.

I guess I have to think, while not the nicest thing to do, it would come across nice and loud to me if I was the pet owner. And you have to admit it was just a little humorous. Wink

I get tired of the dogs that run loose in our neighborhood all day long. Now I am not saying that I would do this, but for all we know the people in this neighborhood had tried to talk to the owner about the problem but she did nothing about it, so this was their way of getting the message across. The dog didn't look any worse for wear. But obviously the owner just didn't "get" it.

By the way, I know a guy who caught one of the neighbors dogs, which was always running loose, and shaved a strip right down the dogs back. I didn't think that was very nice either. That owner did get the message and they started keeping the dog at home.

Just my 2cents.
