I was walking 3 dogs down the street (my 2 dogs and a dog that im watching) and a lady pulled over in her car and asked me if my dog was a boy. I think she was talking about my pom so i said yes. then she asked me if my dog could have babys! i was horrified and angry but all i said was no. She said that was to bad because she was looking for a dog to breed with her dog! Why would you breed your dog with some dog you met on the streets? i can understand breeding purbreds for show but just picking a dog you have never met not knowing if it is a pure bred or has papers or if it has any genetic problems or anything! I think it is awfully rude to stop and ask if her dog and my dog can breed. Not to mention the puppys! They could end up homeless or if they dont some other dog at the shelter will because of them!
I'm sorry, but I would have turned to her and said:
"Lady, you don't deserve to own a dog. Either give me your dog so I can take care of it like it needs to be or give it to a shelter because you're too stupid for dog ownership."
I would have said something like that but im not good under pressure... afterwards i kinda wanted her to drive by again just so i could give her a peice of my mind. i was just shocked that someone would ask me something like that with out even knowing me or my dog!
I breed dachshunds and if someone on the street asked me that I would be pretty mad. I would want to know what they want their dog to be bred for, I breed for quality and confermation, not just for cute puppies and thats probably what that lady wanted- cute puppies.
You know...the same thing happened to me. I was walking my two dogs and a lady asked "Is the white one a girl? Would you let my boy mate with it?" I told her no, she's fixed. She has a little black dog with splayed feet. So not only did she not know what my dog was her dog has structural problems.
