What all tricks can to teach your dog? I know there is Sit, Stay, Rollover, playdead, shake hands...ect...i Just want ot know all the tricks there are possible to teach a dog.
Just about anything and everything. lol. Basic tricks: High five, wave, speak, spin, beg, give me ten, put 'em up
I like to work with Carley on speaking. I've taught her to howl, whisper, and bark on different commands. If you want something useful, you can train them to wipe their paws. This is going to be one of my next tricks. Train them to get things on commands. Open doors, close doors, turn on and off lights, jump onto things, get out of the room, etc. I like to just see what my dogs are going to offer and start clicking. By doing this, I've taught Casey to knock over a chair, climb a small ladder, roll a b all towards me, etc. It's really fun if you're dog's willing to think.
Bow used to be my favorite trick. Now it's when I call Carley here, tell her stop, a little closer (she crawls), stop, etc. until she gets to me. My sister also tried training Carley to creep up on her toy, and basically do the trick Skidboot's (Pet Star dog) famous for.
The trick I'm working on right now is for Carley to yelp. I'm going to combine it with put 'em up, and bang.
Something fun to do if you're clicker training is to get an object (basically anything: a toy, chair, box, etc.) and start clicking for anything they offer that you like. Once they figure out what you're clicking for, start asking for more and hold off on the click until they do something else but still what you were originally clicking for. This is what I was talking about in my first post on how I trained Casey to knock over a chair and stuff.
I taught my dog to balance a treat on her nose, and leave it there until i say "OK!" and she flips it in the air and catches it! Its really fun. heres how i taught her - hold your dog's snout, and put the treat on it's nose, keep your hand on to hold their head still. - say OK! and let go, let the treat fall so they can eat it -repeat until they hold their head on their own until you say OK. - once they do this, dont let the treat fall on the ground. if it falls, pick it up before they can eat it, rebalance and do the trick again, -eventually they will catch it on their own
With my dogs heel means to get into heel position. So they will from wherever they are walk behind me and come to sit on my left side ready for what is next
