My German Shepherd puppy is a bad bad dog she is 3 months old she bites people she jumps on people she will not settle down i cant tech her any tricks she is restless my mom says that if she cant settle down she is going to the pound!!!!! help help what should i do.
Are you exercising him regularly? Dogs shepherd need a lot of exercise. The saying is a tired dog is a good dog. I walk my german shepherd in the AM for 1 hour speed walking. then in the afternoon it's 45min of fetch or other play. Ideally i he should also have more exercise in the evening. He should be easier to work with once he is getting enough exercise. Then there are leadership rules. These are things like if the dog is in your way they need to get out of your way...not you walking over them, holding the food bowl above his head and then lowering it once they sit and they are still not allowed to eat until you give the command of whatever is your prefered command name IE "ok". Small things like that need to be established early with this breed. They should not be on furniture ever either. The leader of the pack always gets the higher ground and it'll make them think they are above you and you listen to them not them listening to us. You should probably talk to a trainer in your area too...but that is tricky because some trainers are bad too like anything else. Some use negative reinforcement and some only positive. I am a fan of a little of both. Of course at your pups age she should not be getting "correction" just yet. She is still learning. You can get the book "dog training for dumbies" it may help you a little if you really want to keep your pup. Hope this helps a little. I have much more to say but let me know how this works for you.
there's is no such thing as a bad dog you have to realise the problem lies with you the owner and not the dog. This is a working dog. How many times do you walk it per day. What activities do you do with the dog, have you attended obedience classes?
Remember, this is a puppy! There will be no settling down for a very long time. She needs to go for very long walks. At the very least, an hour a day.
Work on basic training. Start with sit and have your puppy sit every time someone walks in the door. When she does jump on your, ignore her. Also, when her teeth touches you, yell OUCH and walk away for a minute or two.
Keep trying and have a little patience. Your dog is not bad, she's still a puppy and all she needs is a little training.
