Here's some advice I've given in the pest regarding chewing puppies. It will work for chewing on people too if you're consistent.
Good luck!

Is your puppy chewing you out of house and home? It doesn't have to be that way!

Puppies are born to chew! However their desire to chew anything and everything they can get their mouths on can be simply and easily re-directed with a little time, effort and consistency! The re-direction will only work if the puppy is constantly supervised until you're sure he understands completely and has no relapses.

I don't claim to be an expert! But after reading so many posts about destructive dogs, I've come to the conclusion that I must have done something right over the years in regards to teaching my dogs not to chew things they shouldn't. Here's how I trained my dogs to know what they could and couldn't chew...

From the moment the puppy is brought into the household, have several chew toys on hand at all times. Every time the puppy begins to chew on something he shouldn't; tell him, "leave it", as you gently take the article from him and replace it with a chew toy. Some puppies will loose interest in chewing that object and show no interest in the chew toy you offer them.

At this point it's your job to make the new object appealing and fun. During this phase of training I used pre-chewed Nylabones with the chewed ends lightly coated with p-nut butter or bacon grease; a taste puppies can't resist. The moment the puppy took the Nylabone; they were rewarded with enthusiastic praise.

Throughout the day whenever they would begin chewing on the Nylabone on their own, I'd praise them again in a happy voice; usually saying something silly such as: "what have you got; such a good booooy, are you playing with your toy" etc!

This method requires constant supervision and can become frustrating even tiring, as puppies can usually manage to find dozens of strange objects through the course of a day to put in their mouths; and you have to be right there each and every time to make the switch. However the training only takes a short time before the pup learns that he is free to chew on his own toys whenever he wants, but only his own toys.

With this method there are no corrections necessary, you're teaching a new command, "leave it", which could possibly save his life someday if he attempts to pick up something dangerous. And you've taught him the "good habit" of chewing only on permitted items.

If you're 100 percent consistent with this method; the training is usually complete by the time they're past the teething stage.

Seeing as the puppy only chews on you it seems he either is wanting to play or is looking for some sort of comfort in you. Follow the above advice and you should be fine

Your puppy is going to be teething soon which is an incredibly annoying stage because they want to chew on everything. Make sure you have a good combo of hard and soft toys. They are going to want the hard toys to help loosen the teeth and get them out. Then they are going to need the soft toys when they are gummy

There's also a product by the same makers of Bitter Apple called Triple Bitter, for dogs that like Bitter Apple.
Whenever a puppy chews on me, I take my hands away, turn around, and ignore them for about a minute. I also would say ouch, that way if you ever do rough house with them, you can simply say ouch and they'll stop.

puppies need to chew because they are growing teeth. It feels good! Get a toy called a "Kong". Its a hollow trianglar rubber toy ranging from $8-$10 that you shove treats in through a hole. Puppies and dogs spend hours chewing on it and trying to get the treat out. Not only does it feel good onthe puppies teeth, but it keeps them busy too. Don't worry...eventually they get the treat and are awarded! See it works perfect.

WHERE TO PURCHASE: Pet Supplies Plus or Pet Smart has great deals on them

PRICES FOR KONGS:
*Puppy Size: $8-$10
*Adult Dog Size: $12

Good luck!

Hi, i am new here, but my dog chews EVERYTHING!!! Eek you would be amazed at how much she chews for the runt of a 4 dog liter of Shetland Sheepdogs. She will chew electrical cords, that is what really sets me on edge. My friend suggested cheese kong filling. You can get it at Petco, or Petsmart. It is like melted cheese, and you fill their kong with it, it was better than a regular treat. I would recomend filling the dog's kong with that, it stopped most of her chewing.

If your dog is chewing on a electrical cord tell her/him "NO!" don't yell it but do have firm strong voice when you say it and offer her/him a toy in a exchange for the cord, which is a good positive reenforcement for her.

I recently purchased this toy called, Chuckit, it's a ball that is shaped like a tennis-ball with all the markings on it with a face and it has cotton ropes coming out, my dog - a peek-a-poo mix loves it, I'll throw it and she'll either bring it back or lay down and start nawing on the ropes, this is a good toy for the purpose or yeah like you mentioned before, the kong is a good chew toy that can also stimulate the thinking process in the dogs mind on how to try to get the treats out of the kong while providing her with entertainment to herself.

I hope this helps. Dogs love peanut butter so you can put the treats in the kong and seal it with peanut butter.

But, I don't know about cheese, I think I found that maybe certian cheese is bad for the dog, so is grapes and raisins, which case kidney failure.
