Yes, it is. Some chocolates are worse than others.

White and Milk Chocolate are on the less dangerous end of the spectrum, while dark and bitter chocolates are dangerous. Baking chocolate in small amounts can be extremely deadly.

Just don't feed your dog(s) chocolate period. There is a chemical in it called thyobromine and it is deadly for dogs. No matter the chocolate.

I never told the poster to feed their dogs chocolate. I was just letting them know the spectrum of chocolate if the dog were to eat it.

LOL

Probably not.

My dogs have gotten into my candy stash more then a few times, and none of them are dead yet.

Milk chocolate isn't really that bad for them, not to mention how much it takes to make my 7 lb. sick is a lot different then how much it takes to make my 70 lb. dog sick.

Dark chocolate on the other hand is bad news for dogs. I don't keep the stuff around.

My oldest Dane has a weakness for milk chocolate. One year he went as far as climbing the fridge while I wasn't home to eat a 5 lb. Chocolate bunny. Only thing he got was the runs. Still not the best, though.

Chocolate is HORRIBLE for dogs! But if you want to make a recipe for a dog, use carob chips instead of chocolate!
