Last month, my dog was attacked my something. Now, there is no way to know that it was an opossum, but we have a little opossum problem on our farm, so we kinda assume that's what it is. So he's okay going outside, except at night. He's still afraid to go outside when it's dark out. I don't know what to do. We still have opossum around, though we are trying to get rid of them and we are afraid that they might have rabies. We have seen them during the day, so we suspect a sickness. So we have to walk him down onto the lawn every night and I'm not sure if there's anything we can do to build his confidence. Any help?

Does your dog have its current rabies vaccination?

You might want to call animal control to come set live traps if their is a problem with wild animals.

Just keeping walking out with him, and as long as nothing bad happens to him, he'll start to forget about being attacked.

well he did just go to the vet, so i'm pretty sure that he's fine, but i just don't want it to happen again. as for calling animal control, thank you for the advice. i think that might be a good idea, but i do have barn cats..so i'm concerned that they might get stuck in there. THANKS!
