In my opinion you should get a dog of the same breed as the one you currently own. That way they should be able to get along better and will not be intimidated by height difference, different features, etc.

Dogs aren't like humans, they don't care if another dog is the same "breed" as them.
A small dog may be intimidated by a large dog, but I've seen many small dogs that think they're godzilla. That's the only example I can think of where dogs care about physical features besides stance and tail holding.
I think that people should just get in their heads that schnoodles, puggles, or what ever you call those wastes of money are mutts! jeesh, i don't think that they should allow 3 year olds to post on here.
I'm with oshwyn5, get a shelter dog. All, my dogs have been shelter dogs and they act so thankful that they have a home. You will get an awesome feeling knowing you saved a life!

No they are not.
Is google a breed registry? No. Is your aunt a breed registry? No.
Show me their breed standard and what actual and noteable organization recognizes them as a breed, and then maybe we can talk about their status as being a legitimate breed and not a mutt.
Not sure if you are into the large breed, most of what you listed seems like a small breed dog, but I am not an expert. I haven't heard of some of the breeds you listed.
I have an akita and he is a very loyal dog, and wants to make us happy all the time.
When he gets past his puppy stage we are planning on getting an alaskan malamute because they are such beautiful dogs. We like the wolf type dogs, that is why we stick to the breed of dogs we are getting.
Malamutes are extremely friendly dogs. They don't make good watch dogs due to the fact they are so super friendly to everyone they come into contact with but our akita is our watch dog.
We eventually plan on having two akitas and two malamutes, we love those two breeds of dogs and I have plans on showing dogs so that is why we go for the pure bred dogs.
Although Malamutes are usually friendly with people, they are known to be quite dog-aggressive. I suppose if you got it as a puppy it would be o.k. with your other dog. (Also, Malamutes are known to be one of the most difficult breeds to train).
I adore my Akita, but I rarely recommend the breed to people. In fact, when I was resuing my current Akita they would not even consider you if you hadn't already had "Akita experience". It is a breed that needs extra socialization and training.
I think the OP needs to research several breeds and see which fits their lifestyle. What is right for one person (family) could be totally wrong for another.
dont get a "golden-doodle", why you ask?? That means you are saving yourself from buying an overated, expensive MUTT!!! i usually say mixed breed, but i feel really strongly that this would be a bad desion, buying an expensive designer breed. there are many in local shelters dying every day with countless others but get a pointer.
It is NOT a recognized breed. It is a MUTT. It is a cross between two purebred dogs; that makes it a MUTT!!! When will you people get that through your heads!! This stuff about designer dogs is Bull. It's been designed to get into your pocket book.

A golden-doodle is a HYBRID dog and it isn't a mutt. Mutts are classifed as a tri-breed or more of different other breeds. Golden-doodle is also recognized just not under the AKC.
Okay if you are talking to me? I do happen to own a hybrid dog, but I didn't buy it, it was owner neglect that she was handled to us (me and my wife), since I have loved dogs since I was 5 yrs old or maybe even younger than that, if I can recall and since we live in a 3 level townhouse, our dog, a pekingese and a poodle mix, is a great fit for the house and my wife likes lap dogs and she is crate and house trained and is obedient.
