No Mixed is an accidental or haphazad mating of two animals. Hybrid is a planned or scientificly sceduled cross between two very closely bred individuals. You would need to study genetics to understand the real meaning of hybrid. For hybridizing, the two animals used to begin with are very closely inbred, or at least linebred. You really should know what you're talking about if you're going to make these kind of statements. People are always welcome to their opinions but they should never be wrong in their facts.

The "golden-doodle" isn't recognized by any legitimate dog registry. The ones that it is recognized by also recognize many other "designer" breeds and are not to be taken seriously.
Hybrid is defined as:
1. the offspring of two animals or plants of different breeds, varieties, species, or genera, esp. as produced through human manipulation for specific genetic characteristics. 2. a person or group of persons produced by the interaction or crossbreeding of two unlike cultures, traditions, etc. 5. bred from two distinct races, breeds, varieties, species, or genera.
For instance, hybrids between cars, soda and energy drinks, donkeys and mules, etc.
The fact is is that designer dogs are just bred by breeders who know very little about dogs. They mainly breed them so that they can get money or have some cute puppies. I've seen plenty of cute puppies at shelters, who end up getting euthanized. I saw a whole litter of "goldendoodles" on petfinder who were dropped off at one of my local shelters a few months ago- because they were past that cute little puppy age- they were 3-4 months old. If these breeders really cared about dogs, they would at LEAST set up a standard for their "breed" but they haven't. They are breeding towards nothing but money. Very, very few of them even do health testing. If you want a mutt, go to a shelter is my opinion. There's too many dogs out there to be breeding more that have no real purpose.
I don't know why you won't even look into shelter dogs, why do they put you in a bad mood? But I think that you should think about your current dog, and find one that has a energy level to match it. If it is hyper then get another GSP, and if not I would settle for something a little calmer like a goldendoodle or a mutt, mutts are great and there is nothing wrong with pound dogs, I have to and they are as healthy as one will find. My female is going on 11 and you would never know it, still acts like shes 2!
I first have to say Angeeleeta, I have read several of your posts and you are very full of opinions and you are not at all nice about the way you put them out there. You are not a know it all and not everyone wants to be exposed to your attitude. This is supposed to be helpful for people and with the fear that you may attack people are going to stop posting....
Second...I have 3 purebreeds. A Rotti, yellow lab, and a boston terrier. All were rescues and all awesome dogs. A dog that is adopted verses a dog that is bought is so much better. The love and loyalty you get from an adoption dog is so much different then one you buy. It is almost a sign of appreciation from them.

I will always adopt before buy.
My last post is not opinion, it's fact, and people asked those questions, and I answered them. I'm not attacking anybody, but it seems you're attacking me. No one has mentioned anything about not liking my attitude, and you just jump in and tell me that no one likes my attitude?
Give me a break, this thread is about breeds of dogs, not what you think about me. Keep it on topic.
To me, they are all the same, you just got more on your hands when you have to house/crate train your dog from the puppy stage than you do when you get a dog from a rescue or from a shelter who is already trained.
