now that I have finally made the choice to invest in a Booster Bath! I am the owner of three large german shepherds. As they have been getting bigger it has been harder for me to bathe them, not only because of their size but also because of their strength. I am very happy with this purchase and would reccomend it to any dog owner.

wow waaaay to expensive for me. I'll keep bathing my dogs in the tub lol and I have large dogs too i just sit on edge.

Strength isn't an issue for me because i trained my dogs so they no they get in the tub whether they like it or not. another obedience training is so important for large breeds.

My Great Danes go in the tub. Best thing I ever bought was a $20 shower head that detatches. Excellent.

LOL mine was cheaper but yeah, to me a strong dog would be worse in that thing eh? You have to get them up in there in the first place, then there's storage. I find it's a lot easier to bathe dogs then people think if you are just willing to get IN the tub and get wet.

PETSMART bathed Gatsby once and the experience was bad... so for the longest time, I had a 150 pound dog that fought to get a bath. I'd have to resort to hooking a hose up in the basement and chaining him to the wall. Eventually I got sick of it and tossed him in the tub. No questions asked. He still doesn't like it, but he'll either sit or stand the whole time. Delilah likes to take a bath with our 2 year old son... and hop in the shower if she's not in her crate when we're doing so. Chaucer doesn't care either way.

I'd say training is key, here.

When we were building my house I had a hot/cold faucet installed in the garage with a floor drain. The tub was easy enough to bathe her in, but I didn't like all the hair going down the drain (and all over the walls when she shook!)

I ended up buying the Booster Ramp and it is so easy because they just walk in there. I also use it to get them in and out of my SUV. I live in a small home in San Diego with little storage room, but you can take the Booster Bath apart and it all of the accesories fit inside the tub and I slide it in a corner of my laundry room! SO AWESOME!

Yeah!!! I hate the dog hair in my tub, that is one of the reasons I purchased this! We also go to the beach almost on a daily basis and I do not think sand is good for the plumbing either!! Smile

My dogs are very good doggies, they just get too excited and hyper when it is bath time. I love how it has a built in leash and the nozzle makes it so much easier to get the soap and sand out of their coats.

I'm still an advocate for the detatchable shower head. I live in a two bedroom apartment in Columbus, Ohio... with three Great Danes. We just pull the hair out of a net in the drain when we're finished and spray any other hair off the walls with the showerhead.
I think it'd be harder to get a 150-200 pound dog onto a ramp into a tub than shutting them in the bathroom and walking them into the tub. (My Danes aren't couch potatoes, either. The oldest used to run agility, and we go jogging in the mornings and hiking a few times a week.)

I just tie my dog to a tree and use a hose. Simple and effective Smile

I have one of these and I LOVE it! I have three dogs: a pit bull puppy, a 3 year old shepherd mix and a 2 year old great dane and it it has made bathing them soooo much easier. It was recommended by one of my dog park buddies. The leash/collar restraint keeps them in there and since you can get all the way around and under the dog it takes maybe half the time to bathe them. it is in stores, but I got mine off of the website (www.boosterbath.com) and it shipped for free which was frankly easier than getting it @ Petco, lol.

I'm still an advocate of the bathtub. My oldest Dane used to run agility until he slipped and tripped on the teeter. Walking giant breeds up a ramp (unless needed) just doesn't sound appealing.
My dogs are trained and they don't need restrained while bathing. I just put a non-slip grip mat in the bottom, hose them down with the detatchable shower head, leather them up, and rinse them again. For hair and other things my dogs drag into the tub (I do extreme hiking and the muck they come home covered in has the consistancy of mulch... it's bits of grass, mud, bark, etc...), I put a little catcher in the drain, and everything goes very well. Cheap, fast, safe, and easy.
