I have a golden retriever I adopted from a shelter and I named him Loki, after the Norse god of mischief (he channels). After I'd already named him I realized that Loki was also the name of Matt Damon's character in the movie Dogma (DOGma...get it?). He and Ben Affleck played angels and when we got another dog, a Boston terrier mix, we had to name him after Affleck's character. Luckily he turned out to be deaf or he would have never come to the name Bartleby.

I have a psycho/bi-polar cat I've named Sybil after the woman who had about 23 multiple personalities. And then my other cat is Dexter, named after the title character of my favorite tv show.

We have a chihuahua who is named Goliath. And to beat it all, our neighbors got a dog (male) and named HIM David!!!

I named my dog Keona (pronounced as "Key-own-ah) which is Hawaiian for "God's gift".
