I got this idea off of another post I just recently put up; and what a good idea it was. What is a better, more fun way of doing something for a good cause, than doing it with your dog - your best friend? I couldn't think of even one! While some people don't agree with Charity, for whatever reason - whether they don't believe it's really going to that cause, or something - I think most dogs really enjoy a nice long walk, a get together event, or anything else that Charities have to offer the people a chance to raise money for a cause.
Remington, sometimes Tempi, and I do some walks: -The MS Walk (a 6 mile walk) -The Walk for HAWC to Help Abused Women and children (a 5 mile walk) -The Arthritis Walk (a 3 mile walk) -The Walk for Hospice (a 3 mile walk) We also participate in a fun Dog Show that raises money for the city, and is really a great time.
There are other walks around my area such as The Cancer Walk, but dogs aren't allowed to join in, so I don't do them.
Does anyone have any other ideas on Charity Walks? Or fun stuff?
I do an annual walk with my dogs to raise money for our local shelter. Other then that, not a lot of walks happen in my area. I'm rural to a certain extent, and big charitable events just don't happen in my area.
If they did, and was a cause that I supported, I would absolutely do more. I especially love bringing Malikye out because she a good breed representative for Pit Bulls, and people have a chance to see that they can be very nice, well trained dogs.
