What are their ages, and have they been neutered?

yall asking dumb questions its only bout 2 or 3 resons that it could be
1. trying to prove dominance
2.even tho they're fixed some will still hump

pitt-man, those aren't the only possibilities it could be. And they aren't asking "dumb" questions. They are asking questions to help this person figure out why her dogs are doing this.

Please, post with respect for everyone.

Referring to other's questions as "dumb" is inappropriate.

Simply don't reply if you find a post tests your patience.

Thanks.

if you know whats up why you asked and yea some of those questions have nothing to do with it and some she had alredy answered because if it was over a female they would've fought and how much they do it may have a lil tiny part but none to determine it

Orligrl, it is good that they are neutered. Sometimes within a pack males will mount other males for the sake of dominate posturing, actually even females will mount each other. Yes, it is embarrassing, and fixed animals will do this as well. Even after the hormones have been removed they can still feel the hardwired drive. Likely that is what is going on. It could also be a bit of psychological complex similar to an obsession, but the solution is the same.

If you want to stop such behavior, use sound aversion to distract them. Never pull them apart physically, some dogs will bite it if is a dominant display. When the dogs pay attention to you and stop their ...ahem... floorshow... praise them! Be glad they're targeting each other and not furniture or people's legs.

Good luck.

I live on a farm with many female and male animals. The only female animals they have contact with are the cats/kittens, 5 to be exact. They do it by themselves, not to eachother or anything else. They do it once a month, if not less. I'm not that worried about it, just curious because I've never heard of anyone else'sdogs going that and it wierd, but thanks...still open for more

Yeah, it's not that abnormal... just kinda taboo for the living room. Thank about, dogs sniff each other's rears, we as humans find that behavior kind of gross but for dogs it is perfectly normal. The same goes for this behavior.
