Well, you are going to hear this A LOT on this board, but names are a personal topic, and it can really only be determined by you. Personality, size, breed...all can have an impact on the name...my golden, for example.
In late March I went to go get her, and I was driving back with my dad, and we were thinking of names. My dog is into EVERYTHING, and a name popped in my head, just like this blond daughter of my dad's friend, my little friend, Christa Rose, was into everything and I just love the name, too, but it just...fit, you know? Anyways, it's appropriate, 'cause she's red for a golden, not too dark but still red, and she looks like a little rose.
Registered names, call names...they're completely up to you.

Not alot of people have replied to you and I think it's because of what goldensrock12 said.
Names should be made by the owner.Name your dog like your naming your newborn child, because you ARE naming your "baby". I mean if I were to have a child then I wouldn't let somebody that I didn't know name her/him.
when your naming your dog just don't name them the first thing you think of, I always said that you have to name your dog like it told you its name.
For instance: My weiner dog was little tiny and she was colored like marble, but her back legs jutted out just a little(there was nothing wrong with her). We thought of calling her Marbles but instead we named her Cricket, because she looked like a little cricket and she liked to jump and awful lot.
Naming your dog is hard, I know I've had plenty. But you will think of something, something that fits her like a glove...or something like that.
im hoping on getting a female dog soon, and ive come up with tons on names, of course i dont know what ill name het until i see her. some of my ideas were: Linda, pie, lori, mari, soni, lily, and Liliana.
I myself happen to have a female yellow lab. We named her Hunter due the desire to have a german sheperd expressed by my brother. Although he knew nothing of the breed he wanted one-he saw them often in the police movies-so we let him name her. And so her full name stands as Hunter Jinglebell. (she was a gift from Santa) Anyway, I personally like names with a special meaning. If you go to Google and type in Baby Name Addicts, I'm sure you'll find the perfect name.
It seems that I always name my pet one thing at first. But after about a year we have tons of nick names! I say don't concentrate to hard on it beacause after awhile they just name themselves.
Athena, Mia, Lilly, Bell, Dasiy, Rocky, Buttercup, Mi Mi, Ect.
I hope that helps. Naming pets can be hard, but you'll get it.
some ideas are: jade, tia, ginger, Mckinley, Roxi, Sassy, and daisy. But i totally agree with goldensrock12. my dogs names fit them. i have a pug named sassy that lives up to her name and a pomeranian named bob. i dont know how that name fits bob but it does. no name could fit him better.
I like the name Athena but it dosent seem to suit my puppy. Athena is my favorite greek godess. I like the name Rocky but she's a girl. Rocky sounds more boyish. My name choice is....LILY!!! THANK YOU EVERYONE SO MUCH I CAN'T TELL YOU HOW THANKFUL I AM FOR HAVING PEOPLE WHO CARE about Lily and I. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Some names I like. I have had a Maggie and a Bailey, Bridget and Sophie. My chocolate lab is Gracie (Amazing Gracie). Sugar would be cute. Abby, Lily, Megan, Sadie. Oh there are so many cute names out there. Checking out a baby book is a good idea.
Think about what her personality is like. Something might come to mind when you think of her.
Thanks guys! Lily and I are so happy together! If you want a virtual dog sim or if you know someone getting a dog, go to this place because it shows all the basics to owning and care:
