I have a four year old Border Collie/Lab Mix that I adopted from the local Humane Society when he was 9-10 weeks old.
We have lived in the same house/yard his last 4 years and he will ONLY pee and poo in his backyard.
On walks, visiting my parents, visits to the vet, and short trips - Max will hold it until he either makes it to his yard or can't hold it anymore and has an accident. Even on a walk, and if he accidently pees/poos he submits and tucks his tail and is seemingly embarrassed or ashamed.
I have not trained him not to go but in his yard so I need help in how to break his fear/anxiety or whatever the cause.
I have tried taking some of his poo and marking another area - tried encouraging him to go in other places...nothing I have tried works.
I am moving in the near future and I am very concerned how he will adjust.
Has anyone experienced this with their dog?

LOL that's sorta funny but no I haven't had that problem with my dogs....maybe he\she just likes to go in it's own territory.
