If the dogs don't lock up but they did for lack of a beeter term he put it in and squirted some in but can she still be pregnant? Her nipples are dropping and this is her first liter. But not my first time breeding.
omg i even knew that if they are sagging she is most likely pregnat....i am not gonna be mean 2 like other people have been.....what type of dogs are they
Hanbear it is "mean" to be breeding dogs repeatedly without knowing what you are doing.
There is such a thing as false pregnancy by the way where a dog goes through all the symptoms of pregnancy without ever being pregnant.
What i said was absolutely true, if he has bred dogs before he should know EVERYTHING about breeding dogs as you are supposed to try and learn everything possible including problems that could occur before you ever ATTEMPT to do a first breeding.
BYB is shorthand for BYB it basically means an irresponsible breeder, the only difference from a puppy mill is that they don't have as many dogs.
This "breeder" couldn't even spell mating right. i would excuse the typo it e was not a good distance away from i on the keyboard.
Loving your dogs and taking care of them is not an auto pass to being able to breed dogs. As a pet owner that's what we're supposed to do.
To become a responsible breeder you would have to have spent years studying the breed standard, have health tested your dogs for genetic disease and have hopefully proven your dogs in either work or show venues.
To be a responsible breeder means you would know these very basic elementary things about breeding that the op posted before you ever bred and considering they are asking this question after having bred several litters is an even sadder state of affairs.
hi, I have 2 cocker spaniels, one female and 1 male. Our male cocker spaniel got loose and my dad thinks that he may have tied with our female. She had a liquid on her back but I'm not sure if she's pregnant! We don't breed dogs, so I'm really worried! Please someone respond.
im not a pro breeder but i think she os not getting pregenant because he is not staying "with" her long enough to fertilize the egg to make pups. otherwise you should ask a vet.
Future vet it's called knowledge gathering? Have you ever looked up breeder ethics? Ever bothered to look into where to get a dog from if going the purbred route? Then one should know these things.
Your question strikes me as slightly silly. I also know you use Ivermectin to treat mange and can be used as both heartworm preventative and treatment, BUT not for collie breeds.
I'm not a vet by you reasoning I should therefore not know about it? I also posted links, try doing research perhaps.
It's kind of common sense, do not breed unless you are bettering the breed. Once you establish that then you HAVE to go through certain steps to ascertain that. What part of what I said did not come through as something that SHOULD be a part standard breeding practices.
Need to hear if from a breeder? I can link you to thousands if need be...
wow,wow that is alot of big words for a 13 yr old now. yes i have looked up breeder ethics and i have looked into where i get my purebreds from. and no i dont use Ivermectin and not sure thats any of your business. i have and will do more research but none of your links cause if your not a vet or a breeder, than how can i trust you? im not saying your absolutly wrong but you are wrong in some places. in my 13 years i have bred 5 different kinds of dogs and been successfull.
-laughs hun you are THIRTEEN and if you've been breeding dogs you've been nothing but breeding bad quality dogs and adding to pet over population.
You don't use ivermectin? So you don't treat your dogs with heartguard for heartworm preventitive then?
A dog popping out puppies does NOT make you a succesful breeder it makes you a BACK YARD breeder. Anyone can throw two dogs together and you have a LOT to learn if you think that's what it takes to better the breed.
If any of those words confuse you at thirteen... my 9 year old brother knows those words and can comprehend them..
BTW if you are not willing to take links and research from someone just because they are not a part of the group you are researching you will find yourself with a very biased and flawed research base.
Anyone can say they are a breeder and you assume I am not a breeder with out knowing anything about me. If you need people to fling around titles to prove their point especially on the internet...that's just sad.
Anyone can say they are a vet, a breeder, a trainer etc. It's the internet take what people say with a grain of salt when they fling around titles, they are usually lying. Like the one lady who got banned from here for threatening that she was really an under cover cop because i proved her wrong LOL. I'm still waiting for the police to "pay me a visit for aggravating her" online
i know people like to fling around titles and im sorry someone lied to you. but i believe in the ten commandments and the Bible and Jesus Christ and the 9th commandment says thou shalt not tell false teachings(thou shalt not ly)so im not lying to you and i think you might have misunderstood what i said my mom is a professional breeder and has been for 9 years.
that story about the "undercover cop" was pretty funny though. it gave me a good laugh. Did she really get banned from the sight?
well all her posts dissapeared after she trhreatened me so i believe so. A few people have been banned, like another chick who was posting pictures of animals saying they were her own when she had just grabbed images from the internet.
why do people do that?! are they not happy with who they are or what they have? no one has tried to scam me yet and i hope no one ever will. i would hate to report someone but you have got to do what you got ot do sometimes ya know? have you seen my new post? do you have any pomeranians?
I'm sorry I don't mean to fan the flames, but by what was said most everybody is a BYB even for the betterment of the breed. It was said if you breed for profit blah, blah, blah, you are a BYB. So I have Goldens, we have had 2 litters, the male AND female come from respectable people WHO by-the-way don't even SHOW dogs. But what I'm sayin is, are they BYB's b/cause they breed for profit??? Eventhoe their dogs have been tested,x-rayed and the whole nine yards? And we (meaning me and my mom) as responsible breeders take the most delicate care of our dogs during breeding. So are we BYB"s for the same reason above?? I think the term "Back Yard Breeders" is thorwn around just a little TOO often. And the person who started this post should not be shunned for asking a question b/c he did not know. Our female did the same exact thing. EVEN went into LABOR. Thoe it was a false pregnancy everything went as planned...just no pups. The dog produced milk. Her uterus even made movements like there were upups in there. Just My Opionion. Thanks Golden_Rabbits (and now it's my turn to be shunned I guess, for speaking up.)
