Just be carful and always be on the watch. Give your dog the same amount of attention as she used to get if not more to prevent her from getting jelouse. Hope this helps! Smile

Never leave your dog alone with the baby this early yet until your dog gets used to it and learns all the new smells and noises and everything. and like Alaska_animal_lover said, try to give her equal attention and prevent jealousy. good luck with the baby Smile

Make sure and give your dog lots of attention if not more now so, like Alaska_Animal_Lover said, she doesn't get jealous. Perhaps give your dog one of her diapers of blankets to smell and play in, that way when you introduce her she'll be like an old friend and not a new enemy. Good Luck with the baby!!! Smile

I agree with horsesr1. If you give the doggy somoething that has the baby's smell on it, it might help it get used to the idea of a new person faster. If you give her treats when she is nice to the baby, she will see that the baby is a good thing.

Is your dog a big dog? Confused If it is, be very careful with the baby, as wolves_hero said.

Flower why does the size of the dog matter?
No matter WHAT the size of the dog you have to be careful wit the baby around it and no matter what size the dog it should never be left alone with the baby.

you actually have to know the dog. I know gaia would just lie down next to it and go to sleep. maybe she would sniff it and make it laugh and stuff, but she would never hurt it. but thats now that she's old and she thinks before she does something. before she would have tried to play with it. that would have been bad. so it really depends, you're really the one that knows what your dogs gonna do. just remember to introduce it bit by bit. give him treats whenever he sees the baby. you can record the sounds the baby makes so she gets used to them.
