It would be really cool if you guys did an episode on the physics of rock climbing and show some elite climbers completing hard climbing moves. It would also be interesting to see some lead climbing falls, "dynos", and water soloing falls on the high speed cams.
This is a great idea! I especially agree with the "dyno" or dynamic move. Elete climbers can make enormous moves by intricately combining a jump and pulling manoeuvre. There are different kinds of dynos; some moves can be made on a flat or angled wall going up or up and over; more difficult dynos are made while hanging parallell with the ground so essentially the climber leaps horazontal to the ground. Many of these dynos travel a distance of 6 to 10 feet if not more. Finally, there is a dynamic move that strong climbers can make simply by using their arms and fingers. This is a mixture of campusing (climbing with just the arms) and a dynamic move where the climber "leaps" with sheer arm/back strength and. All of these moves happen very quickly and there are probably things going on in the body that even the climbers themselves are unaware of. This must make the show!!!!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v...D9Z4&feature=related
