I believe that many of the disc manufactures would be intersted in this information as wee to help them design and possibally test new concepts. They could see what its happining now and what changes they could make. I believe if any of the major manufactures were contacted for such a demonistration that they may even be able to donate equipment and there are may players who would also donate time to help out. I really hope this makes a show and would benifit so many people in so many differert ways

It would be great to see how the top pros like Avery Jenkins and others can generate the amount of power they are capable of and to see the disc get released with incredible spin and accuracy. This would be a great feature and many people would be interested to see it.

Avery has my vote! You couldn't pick a better person seeing as how he throws discs into next month! I'd love to see him 360 throw seeing as how he does it so fast I can never figure out his footwork.

I think the distance drive of a person who can throw a disc off the tee in Disc Golf over 600 feet would be a great thing to watch. All the different pieces involved in to the momentum would be great for this show. Especially seeing it from a normal size, average person that can generate that much power would be fascinating.

This is a fantastic Idea! Have one of the top players in the world (Avery Jenkins) throw for the slow motion cameras. Also if we could get a disc in flight, like the first 50 feet of flight when the disc would actually warp/expand in response to the torque being put on it.

Maybe seeing in slow motion the absorbing energy created by a disc golf basket would be interesting too. all in all, there is a lot great things to see in slow motion dealing with disc golf. The flight of the disc, the arm speed of an experienced disc golfer producing that audible pop during release or the catching power of the chains. Please consider this idea !

Comon Time warp!! it would be really cool! I'd like to see what the speed is coming out of the hand as well. I'm guessing over 100+ MPH ?

Two factors influence the flight of a Golf Disc/Frisbee(Disc), gravity and air. Gravity acts on all objects the same way, accelerating their mass towards the center of the Earth at 10 meters/second. Once in the air, lift and angular momentum act on the Disc giving it a ballet-type performance. Lift is generated by the Disc's shaped surfaces as it passes through the air. Maintaining a positive angle of attack, the air moving over the top of the Disc flows faster than the air moving underneath it.
Under the Bernoulli Principle, there is then a lower air pressure on top of the Disc than beneath it. The difference in pressure causes the Disc to rise or lift. This is the same principle that allows planes to take off, fly and land. Another significant factor in the Disc's lift is Newton's Third Law which states that for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. The Disc forces air down (action) and the air forces the Frisbee upward (reaction). The air is deflected downward by the Disc's tilt, or angle of attack.
Spinning the Disc when it is thrown, or giving it angular momentum (gyroscopic inertia), provides it with stability. Angular momentum is a property of any spinning mass. Throwing a Disc without any spin allows it to tumble to the ground. The momentum of the spin also gives it orientational stability, allowing the Disc to receive a steady lift from the air as it passes through it. The faster the Disc spins, the greater its stability.
When a Disc is thrown with significant spin the Time Warp camera's will see the Disc actually Warp to a certain degree, until the disc becomes stable.

I have heard that a disc travels about 100 mph when it comes of the hand of a powerful drive! It would be amazing to see how a players body can generate that much momentum and it would be very interesting to see how many times the disc rotates when it comes out of the hand for lets say 20 feet. This would be a very cool show and I bet a lot of people would love to see this happen! Get Avery Jenkins on the show! he has one of the biggest arms in the game.

Great to see Avery hop on here and help push disc golf! The first time I saw the show, I immediately logged in to suggest this very thing (http://community.discovery.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/9931905079/m/4611974199)
I've been watching and counted 6 or 7 threads now on disc golf and/or disc sports. There are many more involving ultimate - maybe snag someone like Mike Randolph, who has competed in both disc golf and ultimate World Championships in the same year to complement Avery's power. Randolph's finesse is a thing of beauty!
Come on, guys! You can't ignore disc golf forever!

Good point marshief! Mike Randolph finished top 10 in 2008 in both the Disc Golf World Championships and Ultimate World Championships, I believe the only person to ever accomplish that feat...it would be a good compliment to Avery's stature and power.

Ever since I started watching Time Warp, I've wanted to see a pro throw a disc in slow motion. It's such a coordinated effort and it would look amazing in slow motion.
Discs come in different plastics with different flexibility and durability. The "higher grade" plastics tend to be harder to scratch and scuff but they are more flexible than the cheaper plastics. I'd love to see how the torque of someone like Avery warps the different discs at launch and how the disc reacts to an impact with a solid object.
Disc golf is exploding in popularity with millions of fans around the world and we would all LOVE to see something like this.

For the uninitiated or casual disc golfer, I see an amazing introduction to the mechanics of the professional level of the game by capturing elite athletes, such as Avery Jenkins, on Time Warp.
For us aspiring pro players, the kinetic intricacies of a well honed throw begs to be filmed with great detail for study and self-improvement.
Disc golf is a widely popular and rapidly expanding sport. It seems to lend itself very well to a fun, interesting, and educational program like Time Warp. Let's see it!

-How Fast are the disc golf discs traveling?
-What is the body doing when generating that sort of power in the throw?
-A slow motion underneath view of the disc as its being released to see how the spin is generated would be cool
-A slow motion clip of a putter colliding with the disc golf baskets chains and how the disc reacts with them to come to a rest in the basket
-A slow motion clip of a disc impacting a tree to see how the disc reacts with the sudden impact
-a slow motion clip of a disc golf pro (my pick would be Avery Jenkins)of him throwing a distance drive and being able to see how he does it and to see the flight path of the disc for the distance throw. Jenkins could also include a brief history of his disc golf carreer and talk a little bit about the game to give others an understanding of what disc golf is all about. He could also give recommendations for new players that want to learn this great sport. Even some tips on how to throw a disc properly for beginners to help their improvements would be great as well.
I would really like to see this done considering that many people dont know a whole lot about how the game actually works, they have just heard it as "Frisbee Golf". There are actually a lot more things involved than just tossing "Frisbees" at targets. The discs that are now used now are much smaller than Frisbees and are significantly heavier. This allows them to penetrate much faster and travel great distances that are quite amazing.
Lets see this happen!

Id love to see a time warp segment covering Avery Jenkins and others throwing for distance, everything from the run up to multiple angles of the disc actually leaving the hand to the flight and impacts of the discs, I think this would be an awesome segment and a real good thing for our sport, people who are not familiar with disc golf are always amazed when they see me drive and i can only throw about 400, Avery has thrown over 800 so i think this is something that will really interest your average viewer

I would love to see this show. The other day I was playing a round in heavy fog. I could actually see the disc cutting through the air in front of me. Seeing that in slow motion would kick much butt.
