You guys gotta check out this video of Chris going 43 off (a 75' rope). The skier doubles the boat speed by going over 72MPH across the wakes, while the boat is at a constant 36MPH. The turn balls are spaced 38' from the center of the boat. At 43 off, the rope is only 32' long, or 6' shy of reaching the turn ball. Hence the incredible reach one must have to clear just 1.
