I am an avid softball player and some of the guys that play are genetic monsters! I would love to see players from the Long Haul Bombers hit in slow motion. These guys hit softballs out of major league stadiums easier and FARTHER than baseball players. I would also love to see how the new composite bats react to hitting a softball when compared to regular metal two-piece bats.
I don't know how to get this idea to you but what about the camra being in the ball comeing out of the pitcher's glove thrown to the bat or football long toss or basketball or puck or golf ball
Definitely need to do the baseball subject. Bat hitting ball, but also a catcher catching a pitch; a pitcher throwing, focusing on the strain on the arm; and the spin of the ball on various pitches, i.e. fastball, curveball, knuckleball. Another possible area of interest would be the pop up slide.
Yeah, I would have to agree with the several different pitches, but maybe from two a couple different view points (batter, side, and pitcher). The aspects of the human body in this would also be very good as hitters and pitchers put lots of energy behind all parts involved, from hips, knees, arms, elbows, wrists, and etc.
I think that would be a great idea, There is a HUGE following in the world of mens slowpitch softball. There is a plethora of different styles of bats to choose from to see the difference in their swing characteristics. DeMarini has two-piece designs like the Juggernaut, where the barrel is made from metal and the handle is composite. Easton makes the Synergy one piece fully composite. A good slo-mo shot of these or similar bats would show us just how much flex is involved in barrel deflection and handle flex and the trampoline effect you get on impact from each. I would be willing to bet that you could get some of the manufacturers to send out there sponsored players from the Long Haul Bombers tour, Easton, Combat, Worth, Miken, & DeMarini all have sponsored players.
I like both the pitches and hitting idea, I think it'd be really cool to see exactly how the pitches work (especially a knuckleball). I'd also like to see the difference between aluminum, composite metal, wood (maple or ash), and composite wood. Also, how about a slide into a base.
i think they should use the stealth bats to see how much the rubber piece flexes and i would like to see what a glove does does when you catch the ball
The ball hitting the bat episode talked about ash bats, but the pictures of broken bats were all maple bats. A disintegrating maple bat is going to kill somebody some day.
My 6 year old son Ian loves this show and is determined and excited that I present this question on his behalf: "Can you hit a baseball so fast that you can't even see it?"
