For Flower: 24 hours after the first show on of Season 3 my thoughts are still with Episode 1. My first posts last night were focused on beautiful Sophie and her rescue of sweet, little Izzy.

But the face I continued to see was that of Flower. It haunts me still today. The face of a courageous leader, a mother, a grandmother, mate to Zaphod and Youssarian, protector of her family, the Whiskers.

Her meerkat age showed in the harsh light of the Kalahari Desert, but there was never a more beautiful radiant face. Her body was weary; their new territory and lack of food was taking it's toll on her and her precious pups.

Her undeniable resolve as a leader was never more evident than when she set out, babies and family following her lead, determined to find sustenance to nourish her body to provide milk for her pups, insects and larvae needed by her Whiskers.

Triumphantly she basked in the family's success. Her pups nursed, closed to her warm, tired body. Intelligent,dark eyes conveying both her strength and softness.

Flower, a wild creature of intellect, beauty, wisdom and confidence. We are so lucky to have known her and our Whiskers, those who went before in Seasons 1 & 2 and those to be with us in Season 3 and on......

Thank goodness for Season 3. It will give all of us a little more time with Flower before she leaves us.

We have now seen Journey's End. The little piece of my heart that went missing when I first learned of Flower's Death in February will stay gone, but the space it left is filled with love, admiration and respect for our beloved Flower and also room enough to let in her greatest legacy to us, her daughters, sons and grandchildren.

Flower will live on forever, our Kalahari Rose.

I remember this ccatz. It was beautiful then. It is beautiful now.

I hope to see some of the pups art work.
