Winters coming so I want to get some feeders out for the birds and squirrels. I have one metal rack out now with some of those seed balls.
I don't wanna go out and buy a million feeders so does anyone have good directions or sites that give good ideas or instructions for making your own bird feeders?
laura220, what are the main types of birds in your area, that you are trying to feed, or just all of the birds.
The biggest problem in feeding birds, you mentioned in the same sentence, feeding squirrels............ If you feed one yes you will have to feed the other, wether that is what you intended or not. Where I am in an area that field (ear) corn is readily available for the squirrels, I just pound a couple of nails into a board and cut the heads off of the nails off and stick the corn onto the nails, tie the board to a tree branch. For the birds I use the cake and the loose type bin feeders, and just hope that they get it before the squirrels......
